On July 27, 2021, SuperCare Health discovered unauthorized activity on its computer network. SuperCare Health launched an investigation and determined that an unauthorized party was able to access SuperCare Health’s database between the dates of July 23, 2021 and July 27, 2021. Subsequently, on February 4, 2022, SuperCare Health discovered that some of the files accessing during that time contained sensitive patient information.
SuperCare Health did not notify victims of the breach until March 25, 2022. In total, the data of 318,379 individuals was compromised in the breach. The letters to the victims do not explain why SuperCare Health waited over three months after learning of the breach to start notifying victims.
